To promote a museum exhibition on color, I discovered a quirky, little-known story about filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock. Because Hitchcock is so beloved, the blog post was very popular and received a large amount of pageviews.

Excerpt: Director Alfred Hitchcock was a great filmmaker and a quirky guy. He made some of the best films ever—Psycho, Rear Window, and Secret Agent are personal favorites—but he was also fond of hosting dinner parties and playing practical jokes. On at least one occasion, he did both.
